Our Beliefs

 What Does this Church Believe?

It is difficult, if not impossible, to provide an exhaustive list of the beliefs of a congregation.  And since it is a diverse congregation, we do not agree perfectly on all matters.  However, there are some beliefs we regard as eternal truths and critical to the unity of our fellowship.

  • We believe in the one and only true God existing in three different personalities—God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in God the Father, Creator of all things visible and invisible.  We are created in his image, for his glory, and to live in relationship with him.

  • We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, who died and rose again physically from the dead on the third day. He is the one and only Savior of all people everywhere.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s presence in the world today.  The Spirit lives within each disciple, encouraging and empowering them to live out the mission of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe the Holy Bible to be the only inspired Word of God. Therefore, it is the final authority for all matters of faith, truth, morality, and Christian living.

  • We believe all people who are capable of sin have sinned, and have no hope for reconciliation with God outside of the saving work of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe Jesus Christ lived a perfect life as God in human form, and allowed himself to suffer and die as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity.

  • We believe salvation is available to all who believe and, because they believe, entrust their lives to Jesus, renouncing the old life of sin, and putting on new life in him.

  • We believe baptism by immersion represents a disciple’s willing participation with Jesus in his death, burial, and resurrection, leading to that new life.
